Facebook took another step forward to compete with Google. Facebook will add a Facebook user's location feature.
According to New York Times, Facebook will add location feature in two ways: (1) their own technology (2) using API which allows other service providers such as - Foursquare and Gowalla.
With this feature, Facebook users can share their latest location to their friends.
This technology has long used by Twitter and because of it Twitter becoming more popular.
If Facebook apply this technology, there is possibility Facebook will be more popular. Today there are more than 400 million Facebook users and 100 million Facebook users via mobile phone.
Reportedly Facebook will still give users the freedom to use or not use the location features.
Meredith Chin, Facebook spokesman said that her office had discussed the feature. "We were testing some new technologies, but we can not disclose it," she said.
