
Intel X25-V SSD can replace or work side by side with traditional hard disk drive (HDD). This device also has parts that are not moving or rotating disk, so it has higher performance than the HDD. Users were promised to be more productive because of Intel X25-V SSD faster system reaction ability.
According to Intel Corporation, through a press release, consumers can enjoy the advantages of Intel X25-V SSD by adding the SSD option on their desktop with a dual drive arrangement, or "boot drive".
In dual drive configuration, the Intel SSD X25-V added to the desktop with existing HDD. SSD is then loaded into the operating system of your favorite applications to take advantage of Intel X25-V Value SATA SSD performance which is almost four times faster than 7200RPM HDD.
Users can also maintain the existing HDD as data storage devices with higher capacity. This capability is commonly referred to as "boot" drive because SSD can accelerate boot time and start-up.

Intel X25-V 40GB product line complements Intel X25-M Mainstream SATA SSDs which is offer 80GB and 160GB capacities. All Intel SSD designed and manufactured using Intel NAND flash memory from IM Flash Technologies (IMFT).
